Moving Up - Transition Skills for New Leaders

Moving into leadership is not only a step up but the beginning of whole new career!

The transition from being a great individual contributor to being a leader of individual contributors is one of the most important and challenging stages in one’s career. If this first leadership transition does not go well, it often delivers a negative ripple effect not only important for a specific manager but for the overall organisation as well.

The transition into leadership is not easy and for many it comes with a lot of hard knocks and bad feelings. More than fifty percent of the time, first-time managers get lower performance evaluations as leaders than they did as individual contributors. Too much attention to detail and micro-managing can get you in trouble and cost the organization in terms of employee complaints, tension and poor performance.

This course is designed to help leaders-to-be get ready for their new challenges and responsibilities. You’ll discover the heart, soul and mind of true leadership and learn what people expect from and respect in leaders.
